In a short press release, GM Soli had this to say about his prize Free Agent acquisition:
"I don't have to say how pleased we are to have Suter here in our organization, the smiles across everyones faces here says it all. It was an enormous contract to doll out, we realize that. However, we believe overpaying your elite players is an easier pill to swallow than it is to overpay your bit players. As important, we had to change the stigma around Edmonton and make this a franchise that players want to flock to. We believe we've made this team a contender and with a couple more moves, we'll have constructed a cup favorite."
"Who's he going to play with? It doesn't matter who he plays with, he's Ryan freaking Suter!"
