How did you became a habs fan? I was born in Montreal but didn't always like the Canadiens. I started to love the Expos first and then the transition was quick. Became a season ticket holder while at school in Montreal and will never look back.

Price or Halak 2010/11? Halak, and I'm one of the few who hasn't changed their mind on this. I think the trade will end up working well for both teams and Price has shown a lot more mental strength than I thought he had at the time, but I'm not convinced he wouldn't have brought back more in a trade and I still don't think it's fair to say he's unquestionably the better goaltender, especially in the playoffs.

If you were commisioner for a day you would: Try and change the cap so that the year's salary is the cap hit rather than the average. I think this would make it easier to keep their best players long-term and prevent those stupid "retirement" contracts.

My name is Lorne. I'm 50 years old and have been following the Habs since they beat St-Louis in the finals in '69. I've seen our team win nine Stanley Cups. The most exciting Cups for me were '86 and '93 precisely because they were unexpected. You young guys probably wish you could've witnessed the dynasty years, but you'd be surprised at how much less dramatic it was when the Montreal Canadiens steamrolled over everyone year after year. I guess that's why I'm more forgiving about the current drought -- I understand that a long wait between Cups is the norm and it makes the long arc of a team's evolution more exciting. We'll get there, but it'll take time.
I'm married with two 11-year-old twin boys who like but don't love hockey. But our 2010 playoff run converted my wife into a rabid fan. Date night now consists of dinner at a pub to watch the game. I'm an ex-musician who has a design & marketing company; I'm always in the middle of reading some novel or biography; I run and stay in really good shape, which is my form of denial over getting older; I love any kind of good food and recently rediscovered my love for Guiness beer; I love films by Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen; favourite singing voices are Billie Holiday, Dinah Washington, Stevie Wonder, James Taylor, Beach Boys harmonies, John & Paul, Alicia Keys, probably lots more...
Favourite Current Hab: Tomas Plekanec. He's a chess-master out there, with speed, talent and endless effort. Never complains and almost never makes a mistake. A leader by example.
Favourite All-Time Habs: 1) Guy Carbonneau: Like Pleks, a really smart, effective two-way forward, plus he was a great captain. 2) Larry Robinson: Was at the game when he took Bobby Orr into the boards with a thundering bodycheck. Wow. Controlled the game better than anyone on our team. 3) Jean Beliveau: Saw his last couple of seasons. The living embodiment of everything good about our history and the game of hockey. Met him once and, not surprisingly, he was a classic gentleman.
Jerseys I own(ed): 1) Habs #4, which I wear to every game. 2) I had a Flyers jersey in the mid-70's. 3) I came thisclose to buying the Flyers Winter Classic jersey when I was at the Philadelphia airport yesterday, but my wife threatened me. 4) When I was 8, I crayoned blue and white stripes and a "C" onto a red sweater and proudly wore my homemade jersey outside, until my Mom threatened me.
Best Personal Habs Moment: At the film The Rocket, during the first scene when Richard was suspended for hitting a ref, I turned around to tell the old couple in back of me to stop talking and came face to face with Dick Irvin. I laughed and said, "I can't believe I was about to give YOU shît!". He whispered, "I was at that game with my Dad (who was the coach) and he wasn't yelling at all (unlike the film version we were watching). In fact, I'd never seen him so calm. And now I promise to be quiet!"
Best Personal Habs Memento: The stick I'm holding in my avatar is Plekanec's game stick from New Years Eve 2010 against Florida, when we won in overtime. He came off the ice and slid his stick through the glass to my son.

Handball's a great sport, sadly I was forced to walk away because of the two major injuries to my knee, one was a torn meniscus the other was torn ACL.
The reason I became an Avs fan is quite simply Joe Sakic, both of his parents are croatian and when I found that out I started to follow the Avs closely and I just fell in love with the way they've played hockey.
