It's never pretty, but there were long stretches of good play tonight. Varly was spectacular, the first line played great, and the D was mostly solid. Some brain dead performances by some of the forwards (Nelson and JPG in particular), but they got it done when they needed to....for a change.

good performance all round, but Varly and Barzal were excellent. Could do without Bortuzzo trying to skate it out in front of Varly, but overall, good team performance top to bottom.

Varly should have been playing a lot more a long time ago. Maybe Sorokin gets MTL, otherwise ride Varly - the backup they should have never signed…

Absolutely love that Varly had a stud of a game tonight and got all the recognition for it. Hes a beast. How soon do we forget how awesome he was in the playoffs for us that first run. Love it. Ride him until the wheels fall off Coach Pat.

I dont see how Varly is not the starter moving forward. He has earned it and he gives us the best chance to win. He was phenomenal tonight. Probably the best performance by a goalie for us this season. Huge win.
