That’s the nature of the cap unfortunately. And the Canucks probably want to move him so they can acquire a dman. Unfortunately most of the playoff contenders are up against the cap.

The only fit for Buffalo is the cap hit. Our forwards are pretty loaded, and I doubt we have any desire to add his cap hit for 2 more years after this.

Very good and usefull player. He plays like he is 6'2 not 5'8.

I'd look to see if CBJ is interested in a Garland for Peeke trade . Retention used and draft picks added to even it out on either side.

Usually when a guy "gets permission" like this it is because:

-Player demands trade
-Team says we can't no one wants you
-Player says you aren't trying hard enough
-Team says, alright you try then
