This is obviously inspired by the McDavid/MacKinnon/Kucherov gap over Panarin/Pastrnak.
We see 15% gaps between 1 and 2 fairly regularly, but it is much more infrequent anywhere in the 2-5 range.
This has happened 17 times since the 1926 merger.
9 of the 17 came from the Big Four, with another (Jagr 01) being influenced by it.
1973-74 is the only season with multiple 15%+ gaps in the top 5.
For reference, the gap between McDavid and Panarin sits at 16.8% today.
