It was the very common post-trade bump. It faded. Even with the extra ice time and PP time, he lost whatever it was he had.

It's truly amazing to look back at the goals he poured in over a few hot streaks and how that magic completely dried up. He looked like a serious goal scorer with a truly lethal one timer, and then it was gone.

Watching this team skate laps around the Blues felt very Black Mirror for previous years. I was so used to half a decade of Dallas getting out played, outshot, and bailed out by superior goaltending and coinflip hockey. Especially vs the Blues.
