The Winnipeg Jets take on the Los Angeles Sharks tonight at 8:00pm at the Winnipeg Arena in what looks to be a capacity crowd of over 10,100 for the game. The 44-24-6 Jets are coming off of a 3-2 loss against the Ottawa Nationals on Saturday night and have now lost six straight games. The Sharks are 38-24-11 on the season after a 4-2 loss against the Calgary Cowboys on Saturday and have now lost two straight games.

Los Angeles star forward PL Dubois, leads the team in goals and points, and has been quite effective on the power play and penalty kill after being acquired from the Jets this past summer. Sharks coach Terry Slater said of Dubois, "He's a real complete player, never taking a game off. He's a great leader, both on an off the ice."

Winnipeg will be in tough, but co-coach Nick Mickoski thinks the team will start to turn things around. "We've had a bit of a slump since the All-Star break," said Mickoski, "but things will start turning around for us, I know it." With only eight games remaining in the season, let's hope Mickoski is right.

Kyle Connor, who has thirty goals on the year despite being an incredible defensive specialist, also thinks the Jets are due tonight. "We've played some pretty solid hockey lately, but it hasn't showed up on the stats sheet," said Connor. "We need to focus on what we do right."

After the game, the Jets get a few days off before flying to Calgary to take on the Cowboys on Thursday.

This is my attempt at conjuring up maximum mojo to help aid the boys snap this skid. A call has been made to our terrapin friend, put out the inferno. Save us. (Much respect to every poster that contributes here. I tired to honor as many of you as possible and I apologize to those who I couldn't squeeze in/forgot about. Big up all of you.)

Great job fantastic work but where's the boobs?

Thank you, much appreciated gents.

Funny you mention the boobs.. In the driving scene from The Big Lebowski, The Dude throws his lit joint against the closed window and it lands on his crotch. It causes him to panic and drive his car into a dumpster. I wanted to cut in a busty hitchhiker to make it look like she distracted him and was the reason for the crash, but I couldn't find a clip I liked that made sense. Most hitchhiking scenes take place alongside a rural road, usually desert. The crash happens in a urban neighborhood, so it just looked off to have it go quickly from rural to urban setting. Perhaps a detail nobody would have noticed, but I would have, ha.

Speaking of LA i go there quite a bit and love staying up in Laurel Canyon, such a rich history of music. Saw the little apartment that Jim Morrison rented up there and got to see this band at the Whiskey last time in LA, they were very good.

The Kings are coming in here on a 2 game losing streak and the Blues are only 5 points back of them. They'll have a motivation and urgency that the Jets are gonna have to work to overcome. We can do it, depending on which version of the Jets shows up tonite.

Someone needs to go beast mode on this team, who is it?

Jomo, brighteyes, Helle or Lowry can all do it.

One (or more) of these guys have to throw the team on their backs and drag them back into the fight.

I don't even think the team is playing bad right now, but you need to find a way to do a little more to win each game as they get tougher.

Stop playing not to lose and start imposing your will every shift. It's not easy but it's not going to somehow get easier.

It reminds me of the Leafs, lots of talent, can win the 'easy' games but when it gets tough, they can't find a way to find that next gear.

It's all in the players heads. They keep saying they want it, but now it's time to man the f*** up.
