They are saving him for the avs sire and ALSO for the playoffs of course. This is not the most important game of the season. Si they will go with murray. He is the projected starter too.

Have the NHL starters gotten this soft? Otter is 24 years old, and everyone is concerned he’s being over worked. He’s only started 55 games. If he wants to be the league’s best he should be good with 60+ games if need be.

Unless he’s dealing with an injury, I don’t see why he wouldn’t start both games given how crucial it is to get that top spot.

I edited my post right before your response but unless he is CURRENTLY dealing with something, then it still doesn’t make sense to me. 55 games is not a lot if you’re considered to be a top tier goaltending.

My filosophy and some otha coaches beside is that if a sucka can get hurt in a useless situation, dont play him. Let him play casino and take the day off. Lay back and learn bout the world. See the sunshine and all. Butts.

But it’s not a useless situation. It’s a big 2 points and if Wedge was healthy then sure, rest Otter. Unfortunately Murray is not a competent NHL goalie.

If we end up missing that top spot by 1 win, and get screwed playing the Avs round 1 no doubt we will look back and regret starting an AHL goalie tonight.

So did Tobias Stephan. Doesn’t mean anything. You and I clearly both have a different opinion an a “competent nhl goalie”

His only other game he looked brutal.

Fans get so caught up in the opponents when in reality teams like Arizona are dangerous to play against this late in the season.

The matter of the fact is, this is a big 2 points up for grabs and to trust some journeymen with 2 games under his belt doesn’t sit well with me.

Playing a team like Seattle/Calgary/Winnipeg in round 1 and securing home ice advantage for the first 2/3 rounds is very important and every game is important. There is no such thing as “useless games”. If Otter is healthy, and there’s no injury concerns … you play your guy. He has only started 55 games and he’s 24 years old. If he wants to be the best, you need to play a lot.
