Only thing with cats is that they have very short lifespans. Like a year or two tops. It's so weird how people get attached to these little furry balls that just end up being whisked away so soon. Poor girlfriend. She's even thinking of not getting any anymore. What a damn shame.

We've had our cat for 15 years and counting.

Average lifespan is around 15yrs? Purebred are regularly less but not that much. I find it's often the ones that you'd be okay with only being around a couple years end up living for 20 though.
