Big Game Story: The 2014 Coors Light NHL Stadium Series is finally here !!! This is the third of five games between the SoCal rivals and the second in a span of three days. The Ducks beat the Kings 2-1 Thursday on goals from Dustin Penner and Patrick Maroon. The Kings won the first meeting of the season, 3-2 in a shootout, on Dec. 3. This game at Dodger Stadium is the first of four in the series and the first NHL outdoor game played in a warm-weather climate. The layout of the event features not only the rink in the middle of the field at Dodger Stadium, but a beach volleyball court in left field, palm trees in center field, a stage in right field for two performances by KISS, and a roller hockey rink in the area by home plate. I don't care what all the naysayers say, I'm excited about this one. Never thought I'd get to see the Kings in an outdoor game in LA. It's gonna be fun Maybe this will get the boys to relax and get back to playing their game. Who knows, maybe the spectacle will spark some offensive creativity.

This team needs a shot in the arm, we can talk until the end of time about how bad the pp is but I think the Kings problem is that they're too complacent. Look at the Ducks young kids, they're tenacious. Maroon and Belesky, we don't have anyone like that on the Kings. And if we do they're are too worried about the system. Start by calling up Andreoff and waiving Fraser.
