Big test.

Need to be up for this one right off the puck drop. Can’t afford to go down early against this club, especially with Vasy in net.

I see us jumping out to an early 2-0 lead and then holding on for dear life, but eventually cracking to a championship caliber team.

3-2 Tampa in OT.

Not related to this game but I was watching some of the Florida game and I don't know how the Oilers will be able to compete against those guys.
I know they lost to Nashville but they controlled play like few teams I've ever seen. A shitty defensive club like the Oilers will get carved up by them. It just illustrated to me how far the Oilers are from contending when watching a real contender play. Maybe Jared Tinordi is the final piece?

Anyway, one Stanley Cup contender at a time....

John Cooper vs the potential John Cooper. With a couple new moves, the Oilers could turn into something truely special if Woodcroft continues to help the prospects grow. Unfortunately, I don't think Holland will make the right moves or hold off on making them until it's too late. Not a lot of great goalies available anyway. Don't think Flurey is coming here... :(

I have no idea how we play tonight. Do the oil come out flying or will we trip and fall on our faces? To me, getting a single point out of OT would be a huge win.

Good luck tonight boys. Play hard and always remember:

Can late 90s music bring out the hard working late 90s Oilers? Gotta try to get luck from somewhere when your favorite team is about to face Tampa Bay.

So much optimism in this thread so far.

I guess the team should have just forfeited these next 3 games and just head straight to Philly and wait there to play their next game...

OR...

f*** the Lightning/Panthers/Hurricanes.

The Oilers are going to light up the Lightning, euthanize the kitties & cane the Canes.

3 wins on the road upcoming as the Oilers roll into town with their 1976 wood-paneled station wagon... tank full of whoop ass... delivering beat downs across the Southeast.

I think this is a pretty common roadtrip for teams or at least hitting both Florida teams. I'd be curious how many teams have pulled off points in all three games. I'd imagine it's pretty few. I think Calgary was swept on this same road trip and that's depsite nobody showing up against them all year. Vegas went 1-1-1. Colorado only had 2 of the three and split as well. Minnesota and St. Louis as well only did 2 of the 3 and gained 1 out of 4 points.

Excited to see Broberg on the 4th line! :sarcasm:
Tough 3 games coming up, 4 points would be great, 3 would be ok. After some rest let's see how they respond. Then another few days of rest so zero excuses this trip. Trap it up!

These next 3 games are a measuring stick to see where we are as a team. We should be rested and focused. I'm not sure if we will win or lose this game but it should be a tight game unless it gets decided by poor goaltending on our side or special teams since ours haven't been very good lately.

Smith had a stinker last game so I'm thinking (hoping) he has a gem tonight. Seems to be how he operates. I dont expect them to win all three on this trip but as long as theyre close games and we actually battle hard for 60 minutes I'll be happy.

If we get stomped its gonna get bad.

Koskinen and Smith, doesn't matter who starts. They're probably going to get pumped like the Minnesota game.

6-2 Tampa, Maroon with the hat trick.
Oilers have been scoring so hopefully we keep it close, but I agree….. I just don’t see us competing with the top teams with our current goaltending. We put up 3 goals against Minnesota and still got blown out lol
