JT is cooked
If the game was played in a phonebook he would be great. He still battles his ass off along the boards and in front of the net, but it all falls apart whwn he has to move the puck anywhere.

That pass he got from Willy... The worst place he could shoot it was where he did. If you are going to go low, at least go to Swayman's left leg so there is a chance of a rebound squirting out into the slot or across the net

solid period

good performances from marner and domi

woll let in a goal on a high danger scoring chance so there's only so much you can blame him, but you need more from him, especially given that the leafs are facing swayman, who is managing to save some high danger scoring chances

nylander and jt looked bad

It’s so hard for the leafs to score goals. It seems like the bruins always score when they want it and when they need it. It comes so easy for them and they have much less talent on offense than the leafs. It’s so frustrating to watch this process unfold over again.
Do they really have less talent on offence or are guys just over rated

Great period.
We play such good hockey when we're missing a top player.
It's almost like the group knows they're shorthanded and need to play hard and outwork the opponent.
At full strength too often it feels like they group expects to win just by outskilling the other team.
It's like people calling off at work and the rest of the staff have to pick up the slack to get the job done. It's pretty much what's going on here.

It's crazy how upset everyone is when they played an almost perfect period, controlled play the entire time, and a lucky bounce is what cost them a goal.

If they keep playing that and lose, so be it. But that's part of the frustration, ya? Boston isn't going to get 6 shots this game either.

I think Boston is playing their game. Clogging the front of the net, blocking everything and anything. Leafs have nothing from the point. No 2nd chances and a lot of it from the outside. It's going to take a lot of good shots and 2nd efforts to score. All Boston needs is a couple looks, we need a barrage of shots to hope.
Boston would like more pressure, they're lucky to be tied, but this was never going to be a wide open game unless we caved. We'll need to grind out a win (or 3)

Good first period of play but as usual when the Leafs outplay the opposition lately they have nothing to show for it. They have to make simple plays to the net and crash it. Boston isn't going to give them the pretty ones. Nylander and Tavares were horrible that period but Marner and Domi are looking good so far.

Because the standard Leaf move is to pretend a goal resulting from a bullshit bounce right to the only Boston player in the area (the only kind of goals Boston generally scores) was somehow a planned play that Boston executed perfectly.
