Dubnyk being just "ok" in net isn't good enough considering the questionable D. He needs to be lights out every night for this team to succeed.

And he isn't doing that.

It's funny how everyone keeps saying "same old Oilers, same old ****" It happened after the first period against Vancouver, and look how it ended.

It happens every time we have a bad period or two. People lose their minds and as soon as the Oilers come back, it's all forgotten about. Teams have bad periods, and games. It happens.

They can't if they keep playing the way they have been.

If they just play smart, chip pucks deep, and get on the forecheck hard, they will generate chances and beat teams playing that way IMO.

Folks wouldn't be so upset if the Oilers could take a ******* lead in a hockey game, score first or hell, get some goal scoring from people who aren't Eberle, Schultz or Yakupov.

Lights out would be a 920 save % average would be a 905% he's got what? 880%

They don't have the personnel to do that. They are primarily a transition team and feed off of turnovers or broken plays. They are not a forechecking, keep puck deep, cycle team. They need time and space to succeed as evidenced by their success on the PP and their struggles at even strength. It's a one dimensional offense and certain teams know how to shut them down. This is where Tambellini needs to upgrade the team with strong 2 way players.

sounds simple but the oilers are a team built for speed. and more and more teams are catching on to the sit back style against them. canucks did it, flames are doing it

Also a general warning, get off each others throats. I know this is frustrating but keep it civil. If you can't do that you'll be removed from the thread.
