I still cringe at the news about Gerard Gallant's unceremonious firing from Florida despite a 11-10-1 record. A mere phone call from the Florida owner after a loss at Carolina and a taxi ride later, he was gone. (Gallant was forced to get his own ride to the airport after a defeat in Carolina.)
Despite the indignity of his firing, he maintained his composure and magnanimity. (A nice contact extension before the firing certainly helped to ease the pain, however.)
