Merzlikins is out with the flu, so it’ll likely be Spencer Martin in net tonight.

If DeBrincat keeps doubling his number of goals each game, he should have 4,835,703,278,458,519,999,999,999 goals by the end of the season. :D
;)
Edit: Morning math... The original calculation would only have been correct if he started with two goals.

The team scored 3 against New Jersey and 6 against Tampa...

...Do they score 12 against Columbus? :yo:

Good to see Petry scratched, feel good homecoming story is over, time to wake up and contribute.
Glad to see them go with regular pairings so the bottom four can learn to play together. And Petry is the most logical scratch based performance.

Sounds like Czarnik is in.
I don’t mind that. He is dependable. Shows up and does his job. Always a good call up option.

Czarnik is one of the best players in terms of knowing his role, playing in that roll, and doesn't let on (that I have seen) that he feels like he deserves to be higher in a lineup. He is a perfect role player that does his job and moves on. Love it.

Feels like we are trying to load up on the first two lines this game. Interesting to see how it plays out. Hopefully Raymond can continue with the shoot-first mentality when taking a pass. Worked out on Saturday.

Petry a scratch tonight is probably a wise decision. Some of his play might be due to a new system, new team, etc... but still. CBJ might not be one of the best teams in the league, but they do have some guys who'll make it hurt when an opponent makes a mistake. The last thing we need to be doing is making more mistakes than we already do.

Otherwise? Let's get that W tonight, boys!

Now or never for Veleno

Guy was promoted to bigger role already on last game. Now raising to 3rd line. Biggest surprise for me, and I'll take it!

How Red Wings will bust with their 1st rounders... it looks like we have 2014, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 1st round picks on the starting roster. 2021 1st rounder knocking the door, after loading some people off the defence.

Curious to see how this team looks against a bad Blue Jackets team and Petry off the ice. I'm not usually quick with a knee jerk reaction on players, but it seemed like the first two games, half of the defensive mistakes and turnovers were while Petry was on the ice or directly involved. He struggles a lot to clear the zone under pressure which isn't a great trait for a defender. I've thought since getting him that Maatta should be over him in the lineup.

Veleno has looked better than expected so far imo and that 2nd line is hard as hell to play against.
