The year was 1987 and me and my backpack crushed Europe for 5 months. Your post so reminds me of the time and for that I thank you. I could make money last a long time and find a way to drink allot.

now I inevitably leave my shopping to the last second, realize I have kids to feed, shop in the most convenient store, and Always end up saying “man groceries are getting expensive”


If I had a budget for this game I would tap into my Joshua Tree tour 1987 and would pick the cheapest high impact alcohol + an empty stomach. It would make the win a party and if we lose to go down 0-3 then my hangover tomorrow would be worse than the pain of defeat!

it’s like when you got one movie you have never heard of, you have zero expectations and you come away pleasantly surprised. Let’s hope that’s the case today!

I expect Connor, Wheeler will still be a couple of lumps in the log and completely useless. Helle will make 1 less save than Price, we lose this one 2-1 our only goal comes off a crazy bounce off a bump in and kicks out to the slot while Price is out of the net the play the puck, it’s bounces right to a Canadien but it bounces off their skate and into the net. 5 of 5 Jets were heading to the bench probably....

I know in our worlds this game is real important tonight but to ground my feet a bit I realized:

The U.S., Canadian, and British allied forces invaded the Nazi-held beaches in Normandy, France, on June 6, 1944, what was 77 years ago today. There were over 10,000 casualties to allied forces that day. German forces Casualties were only estimates but also significant.

In an act I can’t imagine, Parents sent their 18 year old kids to war to fight for our freedoms and they never came home. Some people and some generations were asked to sacrifice allot more.

I know Remembrance Day is once a year but today feels like an important day for me to take a moment to realize 77 years ago lives were sacrificed so I have the luxury of watching a hockey game in my own home over-served on cheap booze thanks to @flyingkiwi .

Thank you to those that sacrificed everything. I will never forget and I will teach my kids to never forget.
