Marchment picked the fight by skating up to him to start it.

Showed more life after the fight. Maybe they can carry it over. Bad period but without goaltending heroics and a bounce this is a different game. It happens. It’s definitely happened for us this year.

Any fight that's in response to a hit and not involving the original 2 parties is liable to be called for the instigator regardless of who technically gets the gloves off first.

I like Marchment’s decision to take the instigator there. Team had no momentum and they made a big hit which can build even more momentum. Take your chances with your excellent PK to try and get your team going. Seem like it worked. Hope it pays off.

Instigator comes with a 10 minute misconduct which Marchment didn't receive. The ref called it unsportsmanlike conduct. Marchment must have done or said something in the post scrum.
