Zucc has no business being out there in an empty net situation. He’s just standing around

Boldy player of the game.
Top line was dominant.
Faber rebounded from a tough start and had a great game.
Rossi had a lot of good, some great.
Duhaime played better than usual.
Lettieri and Luchinni both had some of their best games in this league, at least that I have seen.

PK came up really big.
Good win against the reigning champs, confidence builder when it was our young guys and core that led the way.

That was a great game. But I wonder what happened to Kaprizov's scoring, now he's turned into a typical playmaker who picks up assists.

40 points in 43 games for Zuccarello...not bad.

He has better linemates so he has room to create. Zucc wasn’t working anymore. He’s still good on the PP

It’s stuff like this that drives people up a wall. Call out Kaprizov, whom is second in goals and first in points with 49 in 45 games, but Zucc gets a compliment for 40 in 43.

Especially because Zucc would have about 25 points if he wasn’t gifted a spot with Kaprizov for vast majority of the season. He’s also bad defensively and a turnover machine.

It also doesn't make much sense because Kaprizov had 7 goals in his last 7 games prior to last night, and he's just another small hot streak off of a 40+ goal pace.

Kaprizov is 7 goals behind last season at this point, but he has more assists. And I wonder why this has changed. There was a stretch when he didn't produce much, and people thought it had to do with injuries. Could be a result of this.

Zuccarello's last two seasons are the best in his career, at age 36 he's currently 0.93 ppg, only Kap is ahead. So you can't complain about Zucc's production, and certainly not if you factor in his age and salary.

Zuccarello is also pacing for 7 less goals than last year

Why does Rossi have more ES points than Zucc despite getting a fraction of the ES time with 97?

Zucc is a middle 6 PP specialist at this point in his career. A useful and likable player but far from a genuine PPG star like you constantly infer. Or do you also believe Ryan Hartman is a genuine 2C and 30G guy?

Fun fact: McDavid has 17 less goals through 46 games this year than he had through 46 games last year, and Pastrnak has 5 less goals through 52 games this year than he did through 52 games last year

I guess their teams should be worried, they don't even have a Zuccarello to rack up PP assists for them

You CAN complain about his 5v5 play, because it's not very good. He's great on the PP though.

His skating wasn’t where it needed to be earlier in the year. The injury from Stanley is assumed to be why.

I’ve got absolutely no problem with Zucc outside of some pretty brutal turnovers. I think he’s in a really good spot on the second line with top power play minutes. If he can get Johansson going, this team is dangerous.
