Setting the bar low: as long as we don't sign Franson today we win.

Or anyone else that has a long term contract that does not favour us deeply.

We don't need to make big FA splashes. If we can't get bargain deals, then we'll just trade for cap dumps from other teams to give us some veteran presence.

This is where Hunter/Dubas need to differentiate themselves from Burke/Nonis.

Burke:
-5 years X 4.5M for Komi
-5 years X 5.5M for Grabovski
-3 years X 3M for Armstrong
-4 years X 3.875M for Liles

Nonis:
-7 years X 7M for Phaneuf
-7 years X 5.25M for Clarkson
-5 years X 5.25M for Lupul
-Offered Bolland 5 years X 4.9M

Gotta stop overpaying players, and stop giving longterm contracts to guys that arent proven solid top 6 F / top 4 D, and stop taking unnecessary risks.

Mentioned this on TSN 1050. Coyotes remain interested in Tyler Bozak.

Whoa. Chicago extended Anisimov for $4.5M... gotta say that's a bit shocking.

Not that shocking. Bowman said that Anisimov had been of interest to Chicago for some time and they had made some efforts to acquire him in the past. They like his size and say that he does everything fairly well. Just relaying what I read btw.

I'm just surprised by the coin and term. That's 2C money for a cash strapped team.
