I think Buffalo is just tool to get his AAV to 4M, I mean TH is perfect trade chip now.
With 50 retention Buffalo can ask moon from the team they will trade him.

Imagine trading Russell and getting Hall back, cap wise almost even, but Buffalo needs much more. That's the reason they did this and Hall is on the game.

This is all an elaborate diversion on Hall's part to somehow end up in Edmonton. ;)

I mean who wants Jack Eichel managing them.

Just wasting time on Capfriendly.

Someone said the other day that there’s about $400M in available cap space to be spent this offseason.

So far $200M if that has been spent. As well, there are 118 RFAs. Eleven of them are guys who made more than a million dollars last year - total salaries are $25.1M. Assuming everyone paid less than a million (107 of them) gets paid on average $1M in next contract and everyone over a million averages about 15% raise you have total money going to remaining RFAs next season about $138M.

$200M already spent plus estimate of $138M about to be spent leaves about $62M for remaining UFAs.

Yikes. That’s an ugly market. Hope some of these guys are looking for right situations and not most money.

what's weird is we have capped escrow. usually, if there is unspent cap space, it comes back to the players because the HRR split has to be 50%. But now, the true cap limit should be more like 70 million (maybe less) and so unspent cap space is only a bad thing for the players. The owners are already paying more than 50%

Well guys, we're capped out and the Taylor Hall dream is on hold for a season. Think we'll close this thread and funnel all discussion through the R&P thread.
