Basking in the glory that they don't have to deal with the problem that is Barrie.
Yup and view him as an upgrade.
Then they haven’t watched him that much. He isn’t that great defensively either.
what's weird is we have capped escrow. usually, if there is unspent cap space, it comes back to the players because the HRR split has to be 50%. But now, the true cap limit should be more like 70 million (maybe less) and so unspent cap space is only a bad thing for the players. The owners are already paying more than 50%Just wasting time on Capfriendly.
Someone said the other day that there’s about $400M in available cap space to be spent this offseason.
So far $200M if that has been spent. As well, there are 118 RFAs. Eleven of them are guys who made more than a million dollars last year - total salaries are $25.1M. Assuming everyone paid less than a million (107 of them) gets paid on average $1M in next contract and everyone over a million averages about 15% raise you have total money going to remaining RFAs next season about $138M.
$200M already spent plus estimate of $138M about to be spent leaves about $62M for remaining UFAs.
Yikes. That’s an ugly market. Hope some of these guys are looking for right situations and not most money.
