Fine, as long as he never touches the top six again.

Thought I was going to hate this signing but I really like it, maybe a tiny bit too long but who can argue with the average.

I thought he was a sure-fire 2.5mil so at 2.1, I think it's very good. For what he does for the team, you have to go around $2.5-3.25mil range on the UFA market.

Duhaime's number should be half that at most. Question is, are we comfortable with a Foligno/Gaudrea/Duhaime 3rd line, or do we still need to find somebody for that spot next year?

Down to ~$8.2M with still Gustavsson, Johansson(?), Shaw, Addison(?) and another forward still to go.

I think he would have got 3 x 3 AAV pretty easy as a UFA.

The Center market is all old guys, most of which had injury filled seasons, the ones that stayed healthy and had good seasons aren't going anywhere(Bergeron, Krecji, J Staal).

Of the 25 to 30 crowd, he's competing with Domi, JT Compher, Haula and Evand Rodriguez.

He's significantly better defensively than all of them, and in the rests range offensively besides Domi.

And honestly, this cap hit makes him a nice trade asset if it ever came down to that. Probably could net us a late 1st on a trade deadline.
