It would have been interesting to see how his career unfolded had he not had health issues. I'm convinced there's an alternate universe where the Avs cruised into these playoffs with him as our starter.

When the Avs needed him the most though, he was there. I'll always cherish the Edmonton series.

Will miss him, was clutch and had a great attitude as a backup. Would have been a good starter for us if healthy.

We spent some resources on getting that starter in Georgiev, Kuemper and Grubauer.

Timmins

2nd rd pick
2x 3rd rd pick
5th rd pick

Remember when he helped us stomp the piss out of that garbage ass franchise in Edmonton and we swept them? I always will. Thanks for the fish Frankie!

And all we have to show for it (so far) is this lousy cup.

I was fortunate enough to be at that game. For about half an hour after the buzzer sounded the Frankie chant would break out spontaneously as everyone was exiting the barn. TNT was doing their postgame with Anson and Biz and Wayne and every time they tried to say something, the crowd kept chanting it.

(Also, in the first shift of the game, McDavid was 1-on-1 against Makar, and I thought to myself that whoever won that shift would win the game and the series. Makar swept the puck from McDavid and led a rush out of the zone like it’s not even hard to do.)
