Hey guys, I thought I might start a new fun set of threads that's designed to go through all the numbers Panthers players have ever worn. Each thread will be a poll to decide the best player for that number. When this is all done, I'll put together a list of the Florida Panthers All-Time Number Team

Note: Some numbers only have one player, so they will represent it by default (and we won't have a thread for them), and obviously some numbers have never been worn.

So far:
#1: Roberto Luongo
#2: Keith Ballard
#3: Paul Laus
#4: Jay Bouwmeester
#5: Aaron Ekblad

Not sure if anyone remembers Greg Smyth, but I don't.

Played 12 games for us in '94, scored a goal, and had 37 PIMS.

With a mug like that, you'd think he'd be remembered.

Just a little statistical comparison between our noticable #6's and their best seasons:

Jason Woolley '96 - 52 GP, 6 G, 28A, 34 PTS, 32 PIM, -9
('96 playoffs) - 13 GP, 2 G, 6 A, 8 PTS, 14 PIM

Dan Boyle '01 - 69 GP, 4 G, 18A, 22 PTS, 28 PIM, -14

Andreas Lilja '03 - 56 GP, 4 G, 8 A, 12 PTS, 56 PIM, +8

Dennis Wideman '11
- 61 GP, 9 G, 24 A, 33 PTS, 33 PIM, -26

Alex Petrovic '16 - 31 GP, 0 G, 5 A, 5 PTS, 32 PIM, -4

Poll seems to be missing, I'll add it.

Sorry I got distracted before I could post it. Now it probably doesn't matter but there's one more player missing: Mike Duco, and yes I know he won't get any votes so he can be in it or not, doesn't matter.

For those of you who don't get the joke...

Boyle was #6?

Like some players, he wore more than one number with us. 6 and 26.

I'm hard pressed to pick anyone but Woolley, but wow, Wideman had a really good season with us though that +/- was brutal (though I'm sure much of the team was).

I remember he was decent, but a liability defensively. Great on the PP though with his bomb of a shot.

I voted Woolley as well, but I find it odd that Petro, Boyle, & Lilja all have votes over Wideman. :dunno:
