Flames put one in their own net

Anyone else wonder if Hiller gets a shutout if the Flames pull out a 2-1 victory?

I really wonder why they reviewed it for so long. Even if it went off the canuck's player's stick, they did not blow the play down because he did not have clear possession, and that's not a reviewable call even if he had possession and they missed it.

Agreed. There was no way that goal was getting overturned.

So Weber touched it enough to get credited for the goal but not enough to get the delayed penalty whistled down?

He got the goal because he was closest to the shooter when he shot it into his own net

If that pass back to the point actually went to the D and he shot and scored would the refs have reviewed it to see if they should have blown the play down from weber touching it ?? no they wouldn't, there is no way that should have been reviewable. Hard to argue with the tinfoil hats when crap like this goes on. never seen that reviewed in my life.

The Devils did that once against Ottawa and I think Damian Rhodes got credit for the goal.

If the Flames player who scored on his own net were mic'd up, he could be heard saying "For McDavid!" before that shot. :sarcasm:

Who ever that dman was, he should have skated his balls off and dive to the puck just to knock it out of its route, even if he failed it wouldn't have looked as bad.

Flames seem determined to outsuck the Canucks. 1 goal in your last 2 games? No problem, here's a gift. Completely abysmal powerplay? Go ahead and just sit in front of the net for an easy tap in

It's like as soon as they got into December, the Flames realized just how foolish they were making all of the pundits look who predicted they'd be at the bottom of the standings, then felt bad and decided to live up to that standard. The only team worse than them right now are the Oilers, and that's only because they've gone to depths never seen before in the modern NHL

What would happen if no canuck touched puck?

does it just go uncredited?

From the NHL rule book.

A goal shall be scored if the puck is put into the goal in any way by a player of the defending side. The player of the attacking side who last touched the puck shall be credited with the goal but no assist shall be awarded.

Should an infraction of the rules which would call for a minor, major, misconduct, game misconduct or match penalty be committed by a player of the team not in possession of the puck, the Referee shall raise his arm to signal the delayed calling of a penalty. When the team to be penalized gains control of the puck, the Referee will blow his whistle to stop play and impose the penalty on the offending player or goalkeeper.

Why do Flames fans ALWAYS have to mention the Oilers in every context? They live in your heads so much they should be playing you rent, but why?
