FLA fans say Shore is playing C in AHL right now. So Stajan can be moved now and essentially replaced by a similar version player but bigger and younger.

This is a bizarre trade for Florida. But maybe they needed a faceoff specialist.

For once, I think a trade is actually a precursor to another move. Shore is NHL ready right now and could slot in the fourth line right away. Could takeover Jones' or Stajan's spot. Maybe Byron's as well.

Someone else must be going out as well. Doesn't it make sense? If he has waiver eligibility ony for 1 or 2 games that means we can't send him down without going through waivers.

.....Makes sense now why McGrattan was waived. Just occured to me.

I think its because Knight is waiver exempt? So they can shuffle him back and forth?

Shore loses his status with two more NHL games played, not AHL. So we don't have to plug him in the NHL at all this season.

This is an awesome trade. Way to capitalize on a team/player in a not so great situation. Tallon said he wanted to right by Shore and it looks like he ended up doing us a favour.

Maybe. Knight is waiver exempt until the start of next year or the year after. Or until he plays something like 50 NHL games. Capgeek sure would have been really useful right.

It's probably a sign for more trades this season or in the offseason to give guys like Shore a shot at the roster. Looks like a few older players will be heading out? McGrattan waived, Glencross likely gone... Feels like Stajan is the next to be trade..

As much I like Stajan, he will be moved before Glencross. There is no reason to move GlenX at all, unless he demands a trade or we ask him to waive if he doesn't resign.

Great deal! Opens up a potential trade for a guy like Stajan for some more assets.

I'm perplexed, on the main trade forum Panther fans are saying hes likely a number 3 C with potentially higher upside around 40pts. I thought Knight had the potential to be a good number 4C...

Conflicting reports on how many NHL games Shore can play before he's no longer waiver exempt. Tallon and McKenzie say 1 game, Panthers beat reporter and Elliotte Friedman say 2 games.

I see Shore as the better player. Also nice if he can go to RW.

Solid move by treliving.

I'm not perplexed at all - the emergence of Jooris made Knight expendable.

This also shores up the team's depth at RW a bit, which m-m-m-makes me happy.
