It looks decent, but I think Pouliot will go either 2nd or 3rd, and Bergfors will not drop pass 20, if he did drop that far I'm willing to bet that the Wings will take him easily before he reaches the Leafs.

Not bad. I kinda see the 3-5 picks going Pouliot, Brule, Ryan, but that's just me.

I also don't see Setoguchi and Bergfors falling to 20 and 21.

EDIT: I was referring to the original poster's prediction. The fact that Hedberg's top 5 are just like what I suggested above is purely coincidental.

I like the Blues pick of Lee, but something tells me the team is going to go a bit off the map when making its selection. Given the fact the team needs an identity and is in a transition phase (with ownership and what not), I can see Pleau drafting a kid that the community will instantly relate to. My pick? Paul Stastny. I know he's not rated as a 1st rounder, but the Blues draft so late in the 1st round I can see a scenario like that unfolding.

I'm thinking that Marc Staal will end up with Carolina. They have a potential franchise player in Eric Staal, and as he'll be a free agent in 5 years, they're gonna need something keeping him in Carolina. Though I have no clue if the Staal brothers hate each other or something. Just a thought.

Oh and Ottawa I think will draft Jack Skille if he's available, or perhaps Ryan or Brule if they were to drop that far.

There's no way Staal is picked at three. He's a good player, but bloodlines shouldn't cloud Rutherford's decision-making process here. The Canes (IMO) will select either Johnson, Brule, Pouliot, Kopitar, or Ryan. *

* I suppose the Canes could trade down, but why?

I honestly don't think Ottawa will take Price.

Muckler did say that he is very high on their list and that their going to have to make a decision on whether to pass up a goalie, but in the end, I think they'll go with a skater.

This could be a smokescreen in an attempt to get another team to trade up if they want Price, so another skater drops down.

I doubt a guy like Muckler would tell everyone who he's going to take a week before the draft.

And who knows. Maybe a Ryan or Brule will drop. Like Mucks said, Ottawa's been lucky that way in the past few years.

Depends on what kind of deal they get, assuming they trade down to the 8th spot or so they can trade their 3rd over all for an above average prospect in return, that way they'll have Marc Staal and the great prospect they'll get in return.

But I doubt they'll do it, or more likely I doubt they'll get a good deal for their pick that's worth it.

I wouldn't be surprised if Ottawa selected Price. They need a star goalie and that is what Price is. Emery's play seems to be declining and he will probably just be a very good backup.

If Bergfors is still on the board by the time the Predators are up at the podium, I'd expect him to be gone at #18

You're right. You're way off! Liles, Svatos, Tanguay, Vrbata, Regher, Aebischer, and Denis are bad picks?

They're also weak when it comes to physical forwards... but I guess Pouliot is no slouch either (compared to Bobby Ryan).

Bobby Ryan kind of worries me with his skating deficiency...Minnesota looks for fast transitional players though...Koivu is the exception...

Vrbata isn't good. What about Nedorost,Ratchuk,Grimes yah they turned out well.Take a look back at their drafts and tell me that they have done a good job drafting. With the exception of 1998 you wouldn't be able to.Colorado is my team so I wish it wasn't true, but it is.

Exactly what I was thinking.

I can see JJ going 2, than Poliot ending up in Minnesota. If Carolina takes him first, which is entirely possible, I'd agree with them taking a big forward - Ryan or Kopitar.

Columbus will draft a defenseman, or trade the pick. They will not draft another forward, I almost guarantee it. If Staal is available, he will be picked at #6, no doubt in my mind. If they can get a deal to get Johnson, they will take it, so long as it's not at huge expense. They will not draft Kopitar, nor Brule.
