First Goal Game: Canes vs Jets - 3-14-23 (New Bonus Rule)

ATTENTION: We have a Twist on the Game until the End.

Pick who you think will get the first goal as usual, However, we now have a Bonus to the game. Pick the period and time your pick will score and if within 1 minute either way, you pick up a Bonus point. EXAMPLE: Aho at 3:30 of the 1st period - if Aho scores the first goal of the game anywhere between 2:30 and 4:30 into the 1st period you get 2 points 1 for picking Aho and one for picking the time scored.

I can understand what you're thinking. But consider this analogy: the NHL says "We've been operating all year on the 2 pts for a win and 1 point for a OT/shootout loss system. But in order to add some spice, for the rest of the season we're going to start counting a regulation win as 3 points, 2 for OT/shootout win, and 1 for OT/shootout loss." That just seems inappropriate to me.

The principle of a mid game rule change bothers me, maybe due to instances where I've experienced one even outside of sports. But if the rest of you want to incorporate it, that's your call.
