Tread lightly my friend.
That looked just like a Mandog fight.

Why do you think Dave loved him so much? Hakstol was Manning in the IHL back in the day.
Can we all chill with the coming in 3rd in division? We were the last Metro team to secure a playoff spot, the Debbies and Lumbus obviously tanked the last game or they could've finished higher in the standings than the Flyers. We can hang our hat on being better than the afterthoughts of the Atlantic, as Florida was too little too late. But we are not the 3rd best team in the Metro unequivocally. By reasoning, the 3rd best team would be the 3rd team to clinch a playoff spot, we were the 5th.
If Trotz would take a meeting, I'd bring him on board.
It will make Brett Hextall cry?Anyone have any good reason why Hak isnt going to be fired for Trotz?

Excuses excuses. Most years is an over simplification and not always applicable, explicitly describing that this past season 98 points was not of a magnitude of "way more" than necessary to secure a playoff spot. The loser point has changed math equations and keeps lower performing teams in the race longer, an optical illusion concerning the closeness of races. We had 98 points, most years that's way more than you need to make the playoffs.
We did it with a pretty bad team overall, four forwards (Couts line plus Voracek), two defensemen (Provorov and Ghost) and zero goaltenders.
Patrick, Lindblom, Sanheim, should be much better this year but they didn't do much last season (17-29 46 between the three).
Simmonds was a meh 3RW, Raffl and Laughton were 4th line guys, after that throw 'em into a hat.
Gudas, MacDonald, Manning, Hagg, bunch of 3rd pair guys but 2 had to play on the 2nd pair. Hopefully Gudas will bounce back.
Getting this team to 98 points was an accomplishment.
This year's team should be much better (and can the goalies be worse? Especially if Neuvirth's new trainer can walk on water).
Off topic: @boxcar65 has been missing in action from what I have seen. Is he packing his bags to follow Manning?
Anyone have any good reason why Hak isnt going to be fired for Trotz?
Lamorello probably already has an agreement with himAnyone have any good reason why Hak isnt going to be fired for Trotz?
The "loser point" has been around for a long time, and most years 92-94 points gets you into the playoffs.
League average is 92 points.
As far as Trotz, when he started out in Nashville, he lost in the 1st rd 4 straight times and 5 out of 6.
Then he lost twice in the second round, missed the playoffs two straight years and got fired.
The grass is always greener . . .
If that is true, Hextall is asleep at the wheel.Lamorello probably already has an agreement with him

I'd rather hire Alain Vigneault. Curious why Trotz was essentially fired. If that is true, Hextall is asleep at the wheel.

Washington wanted to promote from within. Last year they blocked their AC from interviewing with interested teams, akin to the Leafs blocking Dubas from interviews, the next year he got hired to the logical promotion too.I'd rather hire Alain Vigneault. Curious why Trotz was essentially fired.
Ok with Trotz available there really is no reason not to boot Hakstok and go get him. Idk what Trotz's plans are but they really should involve
coaching in Philadelphia. I was in favor of canning Hakstok and was hot and cold on keeping/firing him all year, but now really come on let's do this.
