Melnyk hurts the long term interests of this franchise

I don't go to hockey games for Melnyk. They ice a competitive team, I will be compelled to watch games and take in the atmosphere.

As will tens of thousands of Ottawans should the team compete every night. The calls for boycotts will be that much sillier then.

He won't let go of his team until he is ready to.

This then becomes a goalie graveyard and team that players avoid due to a growing reputation of an unexistant level of fan support.

Nope. The reputation ends the minute he sells and new ownership runs the team properly.
