Thanks y'all for participating. Final list is so:

1. Poulin (53%)
2. POJ (74.4%)
3. Hallander (48.3%)
4. Legare (24.7% in first poll, 43.8% in runoff)
5. Clang (33.3%)
6. Zohorna (30.7%)
7. Broz (28.8%)
8. Blomqvist (29.2%)
9. O'Connor (34.5% in first poll, 65% in runoff)
10. Puustinen (67.4%)
11. Lindberg (72.5%)
12. Lee (32.5%)
13. Bellerive (36.4%)
14. Gruden (39.3%)
15. Bjorkqvist (29.4%)
16. Reilly (30.3%)
17. Svejkovsky (40%)
18. Tankov (55%)
19. Almari (50%)
20. Caulfeld (45.5%)

Any thoughts? Anyone that should have risen/fallen since the voting was done? I think Legare, O'Connor and Tankov would have been big risers had we started the polls later, while Zohorna, POJ and Clang would have dropped a bit.

Yeah he's toast at this point, I'm fully willing to write him off as a bust now. He's also 24 now, so he's certainly not young anymore.

What does that give Rutherford? Like one draft with actual NHL talent at this point?

Eh just reviewed his record and there are some NHLers in every draft outside of 2017. And I’ve always said if you win a cup your draft doesn’t
matter the year after.

I can honestly see POJ being the only guy on that list to go on and play regularly in the NHL. We'll see how some of them do with the Baby Pens.

lol. I’d probably have POJ 5th or 6th in that regard.

The goalies. Legare, DOC, Big Puusy and Hallander all ahead of POJ.

I hope you're right. From what I've seen none of them had NHL speed. Though I admit I've seen them all very little. DOC has been impressive but I don't know if he gets a chance. He played well and still got put in the press box.

Huh. I thought Bjorkqvist looked decent as a 4th line hustler type, which is his destiny here if any. Interesting to see him, Bellerive, and Gruden all in the same spot more or less - there's pretty much only room for one of them to emerge imo. Him being 24 doesn't bother me that much, he's a guy who's yet to undergo a vital part of his education which is more important to me.

I think there's a few people who'd have moved around - but a lot of them could move around in the next couple of months anyway. Svej and Tankov would be higher thanks to their hot starts, but if they tail off, they'd be in around the same spot. I think all of the top 3 underwhelmed many people a little at camp, and maybe Legare burning past that guy is enough to have him in number one... but who knows what we think after a couple of months at WBS? DOC's the one guy who I think would have risen and stay risen. He looked to have a different calibre of athleticism and confidence.

Just for some perspective:

2014 - Prospect Info: - Penguins #20 prospect

2015 - Prospect Info: - Penguins #20 prospect

2016 - Prospect Info: - Penguins #19/20/21 prospect - RUNOFF

Kuhnhackl was nowhere on the lists when he became a contributor in 2016. Sheary, Wilson, Rust...even Jake...all low on the list at one point.

Just saying...you never know.

I have the lists going back to like 2001.. going to post because it's cool to see decades over time of these!

Check it out.. wasn't easy to put together and we all know not an exact science.

The color codes are there to try and group them together equally as individual success + how they performed to their potential with considering the team success as well..

Take a look over time and discuss!

I feel like you need to balance out your “NHL regular” bias :)

You using 300 games for that?

Don't sleep on Caputi just yet. He might win OHL Coach of the Year this year.

Just want to add that Beau Bennett was in fact part of the 2015-16 Stanley Cup team. Evidence from Google:

I don't know what he's up to, but that is a former player I'd like to have involved with the team or ATTSN in some way.

Hilarious/personable guy who is irreverent, pretty cool and gets social media. He'd be a very good add to the Pens media ecosystem.

He can be the new Colby Armstrong.

I thought he was doing color commentary for someone? Not us...

As for what's next: I'm thrilled to share that I won't be hanging up my skates anytime soon. I'm joining the team at @ProMentor to guide youth and amateur hockey players so that they can reach and maximize their full potential. I've always loved working with young athletes, and this is a great opportunity to give back to the game that I love and share some of my own experiences with the sport's next generation of players. I'm looking forward to mentoring these athletes within the ProMentor app, and continuing to grow our sport. Come see what we're doing by clicking the link in my bio and following me on my next journey.

P.S. A few tears were shed while writing this but against all odds, I remained somewhat uninjured.
Thank you and all the best,
Beau Bennett
