Still believe, now more than ever, that Vesey should have been our #1 prospect and he sure is proving why.

Thanks for doing this as always Beacon.

FYI: In return for Talbot, the Rangers acquired 4 solid prospects who are looking good or decent: Kovacs, Zborovskiy, Huska and Morrison. I know everyone wanted a first rounder, but at this point, I'm not sure I'd trade all 4 of them for a single late first rounder. The odds of one of them turning into a decent player are higher than the odds of a single draft pick in the 25-range doing it.

Wait we traded a top 5 prospect for a 28 year old waiver reject? What could be off here?

Won't Vesey, Buch, and Skjei technically eclipse HF's definition of a prospect later this season? That leaves us with Shesty and Graves as our top prospects.

We're a very young team, but the pipeline is very, very thin.

Once Vesey, Buch and Skeji are off this list, we are as thin as tissue paper. I only see 3 sure fire NHL players (Igor, Graves & Kovacs) Fortunately we have a very young team but lots of work to be done here.

Feels like we were saying the same about the Rangers after the Stepan, CK and McD class graduated, but two steals in Buch and Vesey gave us a huge boon. Not too worried about the state of the system yet considering the youth of the team and recent history.

We're a very young team, but the pipeline is very, very thin.

Vesey, Butcher and Skjei will still count as prospects midseason. Who knows what happens by next summer. Obviously if we had 4 first rounders and several more second rounders, the farm would look much better, possibly one of the strongest in the league.

On the other hand, even when Skjei, Butcher and Vesey graduate, we'll still have Shesterkin, who increasingly looks like our best prospect since Hank was the same age. We'll see if some other prospects surprise us between now and the summer.

On the up side, if the Rangers keep drafting as well as they have in the past, but keep their first round picks, they'll have an amazing farm in 4-5 years just as The Czar is hitting his prime.
