With the Fiddler trade, Stempniak trade, Savard acquisition, Gelinas trade, and 1st rounder trade-down, Shero has acquired two 2nds, two 3rds, and two 4ths in exchange for rentals, cap space, and a bust.

He actually has been a huge dissapointment compared to his last two seasons.

Father time can be cruel, I find it hard to compare the past few seasons of a mid 30's 4th line player. Plus going from playing in Dallas to here is a rather large shift in terms of offense production between teams.

Maybe a slight disappointed but that'd be a stretch too in my opinion. Hope he does well with the Preds, a 4th for him is great.

While playing with useless sacks of **** like Kalinin and DSP. He didn't perform up to standards, but a guy signed specifically to be our fourth line center not working out doesn't strike me as a "huge disappointment".

Well he sure as shooting didn't do anything to help the situation either. It'd be nice to just once have a guy come in and improve the line instead of always saying well what do you expect playing with so-and-so?

The more likely excuse is he's 36 and probably finished though if he's going to be rejuvanated anywhere it'd probably be Nashville.

Nice. Would love to see more of Coleman. A hybrid 4th line of Blandisi-Coleman and someone like lappin might be interesting.

It seems like people have been down on Shero this year, but he's done an excellent job since he's been here. Just imagine if Lou was still here .. he'd probably be trading for players like Fiddler.

I think he's just finished, that's why he wasn't any good here.

This is probably his last last season in the league. Maybe Nashville brings him back for another year, if they really liked him enough to give up a 4th round pick for him.

Good luck to him.

I didn't expect a fourth round pick with how poor he's played. I'm ecstatic Shero pulled this off.

We can put Kalinin there or bring Coleman/Pietila up to play 4C and not miss a beat.

Jumping for joy when I heard this. Time for the kids to come up.

I mean he was far from terrible here. Did good work on the PK and made our fourth line not super **** compared to how the roster looks without him. Sure, kids can come up, but he was a nice stabilizing force on the fourth line and playing defensively. Got nothing but positive things to say and he netted us a fourth on the way out. notbad.gif

Maybe we can combine some of this picks to move up and get another second.

Preferably in 2018 if that's something that is being looked at.

This year's draft class doesn't have depth.

Unless we score a top 5 pick in the lottery, I'm perfectly content trading any pick this year (including the 1st) for young talent (possibly someone who a team cant afford to re-up etc.) already in the league.

how much depth do you think drafts have? not every year is going to be like 2015 and they already have two seconds in 2018.

Will go down in the books as one of the most irrelevant stints in Devils history. Right up there with Dave Steckel, Matt Dagostini, Bobby Butler in my recent memory.

Fiddler was only going to be here another 25-30 games anyway. Him being sent away two months early is not a big deal in the long run for Zacha, and the fact he's playing better now will make him more comfortable regardless.
