Hey Guys,
Every year I'm in a fantasy league with my friends. Each year I do up a cheat sheet based on the scoring system of out league to assist me in picking my players. Generally, it does help, at the very least in taking the bias out of picking players on certain teams. I've decided to post the sheet here, feel free to use it. The projections are based on ESPN "2015 NHL Hockey Projections". The scoring of out league is as follows:
Forwards/Defenseman:
Goals - 1pt
Assists - 1pt
PPP - 1pt
SHP - 1pt
PIM - 0.25
Shots - 0.20
Goalie:
Wins - 1.5
GA - -1
Saves - 0.15
SO - 2
If you want to use the sheet for your particular league, you will have to edit the formula with your particular league scoring settings. Once you do that, the rank should automatically adjust, giving an accurate fantasy value for each player. Sheet 1 has the top 228 forward/defense group of players and Sheet 2 has the top 39 goalies.
Again, these are just projections that I took from ESPN and multiplied out over the categories in my fantasy league to achieve a ranking. They are by no means perfect, but should offer a different view of players.
