Came across many stories between November 1980 and January 1981 about the Boston Bruins' investigation into Salem, New Hampshire as a new home.

Interesting to hear this. Can't see the Bruins being serious about ever leaving Boston but still interesting to read this.

Very interesting, although as what has already been said, I can't see the Bruins serious about moving from Downtown Boston to out of the state. I would assume they would keep the Boston name despite not even playing in the state since Salem is a part of the Boston Metro area. The New England name was available though after the Whalers were forced to switch to Hartford as part of the WHA-NHL merger agreement in 1979.
