Well for those that like to keep track of young phenoms' careers, here we go !

Parent is a 2001 born prospect that plays forward for his AAA pee-wee team based in the Laurentides (Québec).

He will be available for the 2017 QMJHL entry draft.

A recent interview with TVASports hails him as the next Mario Lemieux; he's a grown-man amongts infants.

As you can see here, his closest teammate only has 65 pts this year;

If he is 2001 born, wouldn't that make him 2019 eligible? :dunno:

But in 4.01 it's like Datsyuk. Great to see young players do well

He is skating circles around everyone and has great hands and shot. Also seems to have good hockey sense.

Has an excellent attitude as well.

Size is OK for his age. Can't comment until draft year really.

He looks like a stud but it's still very early. His midget years will be telling.

He sure does put up points...and PIMs...noticed he has 60 PIMs including 3 unsportsmanlike, 2 hits to the head, etc. Second in his league in PIMs and no one else on his team has more than 16 PIMs. Could just be a feisty 12 year old that does indeed have an excellent attitude, but just plays the game hard? Can anyone weigh in?

12 years old players don't play Bantam in Québec.

He is killing it down there as his team is still undefeated and he's leading the league in scoring by a wide margin.

He should Bantam next season and then two Midget seasons as 14 and 15 yrs old.

16 years old should be in the Q.

We'll see how he progresses.

Well, that's the way it is all throughout Canada except for the occasional player that has just played up for most of his life (common in Ontario as there are always a handful each birth year, seemingly non-existent out west) or AP situations.
I suspect that a big part of the reason Parent is back in Peewee is the introduction of the new AAA league.
Even though he led the AA league in scoring last year and it's now his third year at the Peewee level, they probably didn't want to take the best player out of the loop.

For what it's worth, the last player to really dominate like Parent was Daniel Sprong and early returns with him are very good.
He played two and sometimes even three years up (with 94's and 95's as a 97) and was third in Peewee AA scoring at 11.
As mentioned before, Parent led the league at the same age.

It does happen occasionally in Alberta, the last one was Kyle Olson in 2011/12.

Yup, I did not include him because it was AA, but he also played a few AAA games. A lot of younger affiliated players play up a few games in a season.

OT. Zane is looking good, comes from a great family.
