Eugene did a lot of nice deeds for players that were only kept in the inner sanctum. A couple of Sens players were interviewed and they mentioned some of the good deeds he did. Plus his work with charity. The donation of equipment and skating sessions he offered to underprivileged kids. Also keeping the franchise in Ottawa. RIP Eugene Melnyk. Gone too soon.

I'm abroad and have been a bit disconnected due to circumstances so I'm just hearing this now.

RIP, and condolences to the family.

I always considered Eugene Melnyk a hero.

Because he made heroes of other people.

He publicly asked for a living tissue donor when he could of done so privately. And because of that over 200 people came forward to help save someone else’s life.

I cried writing this.

May you Rest In Peace Mr. Melnyk. My most sincere condolences to you’re friends, family, associates and fans.

I can’t wait for the boys to bring it home for you.
