Yeah, no way in hell the Sabres trade him within the division. If they trade him, it should absolutely be to a western conference team.

This whole business with keeping the records makes total sense IMO if Buffalo is super confident Eichel's recovery will be great. Eichel asks for trade, they can say they tried. If they think there's zero chance to worry (medically) of course they'd want to keep him.

The injury that caused him to miss two days of camp with the quote from the coach “he is fine and expected back in a few days, only out due to caution.” Seems like he just wanted to skip yet another training camp…
