Ehhh.. Maybe an stupid question.

Are u allowed to start a game with more than 18 players (KHL/SHL)?

Cuz AI allways have 8 defensemen and 12 forwards.

I'm not sure about the leagues, but the 'League info' tab should tell you that.

20 players + 2 goalies was the international standard, some leagues go with 19+2 though.

With IIHF rules, yes. NHL/AHL and Canadian juniors, no.
