Oilers top players were just better and that was the difference despite Skinners best effort to even it out. Bouchard-Ekholm were on another level over Hughes-Hronek and McDrai were better than Miller and Pettersson which was mostly on Petey. Hyman vs Boeser was a saw off as both were quite good. Lindholm was probably the next best forward and Zaddy the next best defenseman in the series but that wasn’t enough to make up for the disparity at the top of the lineup. Very even series but Edmonton took over at game six and held on for the win.

Well shit. Hold the press. Lets just give the cup to the Leafs.

The same applies to the Oilers. Beating an injured Canucks team and the LA Kings doesn't get you the Cup.

Let's see them show up against Dallas.

Yes, Boston had more playoff success than both the Oilers opponents combined in their last 10 seasons. The same with Florida and the same with Tampa Bay.
It's really disrespectful to the game when you keep bringing up the leafs after the first round.
Tampa Bay was more of a contender than any team McDrai have beat? They went to 3 straight Finals, winning 2 before the Leafs beat them.
The leafs have also never lost to an evental SC winner in that time frame. Your team just sucks in the playoffs and it's pure speculation that they would beat even one of the teams the oilers have beat over the last few years.

What's an eventual contender? Is Florida not a contender?

Are you trying to imply that the Leafs are just as good as the Oilers and have more bragging rights because they finally won a round vs a overplayed and tired Tampa?
