Would be fine with this return would have been happy to get rid of purcells twin pouliot as well. I was never a fan of purcell but he showed me some good character by working with oates to get better on his own dime and having the balls to cut the length of his stick to get better. As horrifying as this sounds the oilers do need more prospects, our forward prospects outside of who is already on the team is horrible.

Would have loved to have seen a 2nd come back, but it's something i guess.

Gotta hope we can flip all these accumulating picks into something useful come draft time though...

maybe chia was sniffing around this thread and saw Replacement's rejection. He might have cold feet now

I am not even joking when I say that the oilers would make better choices if they listened to some of the more well thought posters on this board. Some of the things they do, or did at least, were just bizarre, e.g., Colton Tuebert

I think the pick might be slowing this down.

There's some pretty convoluted conditions from earlier trades on FLA and MIN's 3rd rounders.

Basically the Panthers traded the choice of the FLA or MIN pick to NJD for Jagr and then NJD traded the choice of the FLA or MIN pick to ANA for Palmieri.

Maybe it's tough to basically trade whichever pick NJD doesn't want at this point.

It seems that the Ducks will receive the better of the Wild or the Panthers 3rd rounders from FLA. If the Panthers totally tank to finish off the year and finish below the Wild, would that not eventually screw the Ducks by having to accept a worse pick if we end up getting Florida's? Can they even trade either pick in that case?

I would assume it would have to be conditional on whichever pick NJD doesn't choose.

Seems possible, but probably takes some more legal mumbo jumbo than usual.

Don't worry, someone will spin this to be Chia's fault.

So basically Chia has to accept a conditional 3rd.

I wonder if he is going to look elsewhere
