This would require Pavelski to waive his NTC, and it’s too early for the Stars to toss the towel in right now, but in a couple months if the Stars are on the outside looking in…..

To EDM: Pavelski (50% retained), Holtby

To DAL: Koskinen, Turris, 2022 1st, choice of Samorukov/Lavoie

Well it seems a bit much for a UFA we passed on making an offer to, and an older center that while nice is not a need at the expense of Samorukov and the 1st. Who isn't going to pick Samorukov?

The assets your offering are close to what we need for Gibson, so just bit the bullet.

It's hard to gauge potential deadline deals at this time of year because if Dallas is selling, then they'll take whatever the best offer is for the rentals (Pavelski, Radulov, Holtby, maybe Klingberg). It's not really about convincing the Stars of the value of your trade, it's about outbidding the other contenders.

For example, assuming Colorado turns it around but Francouz is injured yet again, what would they offer for Pavelski and Holtby? I dunno, so we'll just have to wait and see.
