I was seriously thinking the same thing
Sam Bennett can do no wrong in the eyes of the NHL and DoPS

Has there been a good explanation of why Bennett's goal was allowed when he clearly crosschecked Coyle into the crease and interfered with Swayman's ability to make the save??

Yeah hard to say, the explanation they gave Monty was that Swayman was still in position to make the save, which is total BS. The calls are reviewed in Toronto, maybe they are still pissed we beat their crap team again. I understand refs make mistakes and some calls are not made, but some are so obvious, you wonder how they screw it up. 2019 finals a clear slew foot by the Blues and no call, results in the GWG and possibly what turned the series.

Well because he wasted alot of cap last time he had lots to spend so not many trust him anymore .Fix the big holes and gain the trust back first.

10 to 20 games guaranteed

I literally said league min. The min salary I believe will be $775k next year. On a projected $87.7 million cap, you're talking about 0.8% of the cap.

Okay so if Marchand did this same exact thing to someone, it'd still be a hockey play right?

Or if someone in the Bs now goes and does this to Bennett or another Panther, it's still a hockey play right?

I have a hard time believing if this happens again in this series, the offending player, regardless of sweater, wouldn't be suspended.

Just a typical NHL response. Admit you blew it, and move on.

Read from a few posters that the NHL is doing this to save face and I think it makes sense. Marchand gets KO'd with that punch and is obviously concussed. League allows him to play for almost 2 more periods, creating a bigger risk. If they suspended Bennett, it would have been an open admission of negligence as they concede the fact that Marcand is concussed due to Bennett hit and he was not penalized for it and Marchand was allowed to keep playing. That's why we did not see the other angle until yesterday. Having a concussion/CTE lawsuit down the line is a far bigger issue to deal with than just sweeping this under the rug and dealing with the backlash that will die down in a few days. Basically both the refs and the concussion spotter f*cked up big time so they had to double down

Everyone gets it. But the true essential fact is even more fundamental than that. You win when you put the puck in the net more than your opponent. Lots of games are won by teams who are outshot or outplayed by their opponents. And the B's were winning until that illegal tying goal.
Yes.

But, "controversies aside," FLA is the far better team in all respects save goaltending.

As fans, let's not whine about truly, predictably atrocious officiating. That phenomenon has been epidemic in the NHL FOR YEARS, and the Bruins are hardly the only club to get royally jobbed. It happens every season. It's happening right now.

As head coach, Montgomery is the person to call out bad calls and work the refs. Inexplicably -- there's that word again -- he has completely failed to do so.

Add yet another head-scratcher to a list that grows by the day.

I’ve never seen a coach have deer in the headlights on the bench as much as him

I know what you said but his focus to me needs to be in huge holes on this roster. Maroon not going anywhere nobody else wants him.

Do you really think teams can't multi-task. Do you think they just start with the biggest need and ignore everything else until that need is addressed? No, no they don't. They also have multiple people in the front office that are part of negotiations.

Lets be honest, we don't have the assets to trade for a legit top-6 center. The UFA market doesn't have a lot of legit Top 6 C's in it either. At best you're looking at Lindholm, Stamkos, Stephenson and Monahan (maybe).

Take the f***ing fine and be honest. This is gutless.
He can't because it shines a bad light on this bush league. Same reason why sportnet turns the camera away from scrums, cuts to a commercial when a play is being reviewed.

I was kinda OK with marchand getting the bad end of a borderline check against a different rat. HOWEVER they didn't show the board-side footage which shows the punch in the face. Sure the bench didn't do anything. Maybe Marchand was too dazed to know exactly what happened, or didn't want to spend time in the dark room?? Regardless they had end board footage, and possibly near board. A whole lot of CYA going on. SN agreement with the NHL is suspect and it says a lot to me in how they cover the games.

I'm not saying the games are fixed, or the league might be. However there are ways to change momentum in a game. Might not be for this team to win, but maybe to get an extra game at home. Maybe that team is established and if going out a game earlier allows a team some recovery time in a lesser market, so be it. In our current example, bruins are closer to no mans land like 1998-2021 habs than to a rebuild or contender. So if they go out early...meh they weren't built for the playoffs or whatever. Goalie couldn't do it by himself was always the habs.

League is about expanding the market of the league vs other leagues, but mainly the NBA. Doesn't mean you throw games, but you can have some influence on them. If Bruins made it through those penalties and tie the series, it makes a game 7 so much better, with all the shinanigans in the backdrop.

I am cheering against the bruins, but it has been a very entertaining series, Same goes for the NYR-CAR, where I am cheering on the Canes. Hate they are down 3-1, but its been a great ride. Even letting some BS call through and letting blatant stuff slide is all about "showmanship" and it gets rivalries and hatred going along with the media coverage it entail.

You have to look at the big picture. Its not about the bruins being kicked by the league square in the nuts, its about making a struggling market relevant instead of having them move north once again. Notice they didn't send Arizona to Quebec, Hartford, or Portland, but to UTAH??? Of all places?

Some folks in the media have no problem calling out these mistakes by the officials and Toronto, but the Bruins front office can't muster up the courage to do the same! SMH
Wake up Donny, Cam, and the Jacobs, your team is getting mauled from all sides, show some balls and back then up! It's your investment and assets you need to protect!
There must be a written (or unwritten) agreement with the owners and the NHL that management and/or owners are not allowed to overly scrutinize the referees/officials for bad calls, because the refs are like the sacred ground of the league, and when they make bad calls that have people scratching their heads, it's all for the greater good of the league ...and Vegas Sportsbooks

So, don't ask too many questions....just let the refs fix ref the games as they see fit

I just picture Bettman, Daly, and whatever the main ref stooge is, sitting in some high rise office tower in a dark room scouring the web for any mean statement about a referee and go cry about it. Then once they calm down go scorched earth and fine the coach/team before feeling better about themselves and going to grab an ice cream cone and sing kumbya

Lol, we aren't talking about overly scrutinize officials, you have scrutinize once or twice to get to that point, Bruins haven't.
Besides any rule can be broken and now is the time, so asking the questions is what needs to be done.

You know what I continue not to get about the Bruins?

Why is Trent Frederic stuck in the bottom six?

Over the past two years:

GamesEVGEVPEV TOI per Game
Player 1132276014:07
Player 2161336812:07

One of these guys is Trent Frederic playing in the bottom six. The other is Sam Bennett.

Has he even been playing at all this series?

Wait we have our own Sam Bennett that has been slowly being nurtured physically and forced down in the lineup?

Still need to be good enough to make playoffs, but have to have type team that can go deep too.Bruins have one part right .
And as good of team they had last season, they really weren’t built to go far in the playoffs either, they haven’t had a team that was built to go far in the playoffs since 2011,2019 was nothing but a mirage no way they would have gotten bye Tampa or Washington.
