So, I did a little Game 7 research into this current Chara/Bergeron/Marchand leadership era. These are my results:

{Zdeno Chara, Captain}
2007 - DNQ.
2008 - Lost Game 7 @ Montreal 5-0.
2009 - Lost Game 7 vs. Carolina 3-2 OT.
2010 - Lost Game 7 vs. Philadelphia 4-3.
2011 - Won Game 7 vs. Montreal 4-3 OT.
2011 - Won Game 7 vs. Tampa Bay 1-0.
2011 - Won Game 7 @ Vancouver 4-0.
2012 - Lost Game 7 vs. Washington 2-1 OT.
2013 - Won Game 7 vs. Toronto 5-4 OT.
2014 - Lost Game 7 vs. Montreal 3-1.
2015 - DNQ.
2016 - DNQ.
2017 - No Game 7 Played.
2018 - Won Game 7 vs. Toronto 7-4.
2019 - Won Game 7 vs. Toronto 5-1.
2019 - Lost Game 7 vs. St. Louis 4-1.
2020 - No Game 7 Played.

{Patrice Bergeron, Captain}
2021 - No Game 7 Played.
2022 - Lost Game 7 @ Carolina 3-2.
2023 - Lost Game 7 vs. Florida 4-3 OT.

{Brad Marchand, Captain}
2024 - Game 7 vs. Toronto TBD.

At present, the record stands at 6-8. Not completely abysmal, but not really what we're looking for, either. 5-6 at home. 1-2 on the road.

Half of this era's Game 7 wins came in 2011, and the other half came vs. Toronto. Subtracting 2011 and the Maple Leafs leaves us with 0-8 in Game 7s. I didn't even get into breaking down series leads and all that, either.

I really hope the Bruins hold to form and wax Toronto tonight. Losing to the Leafs would be a crushing disappointment.
Yup and 1 constant since 2014
Joe Sacco The guy that helps the coach with a game plan.

I went full Marchand on the shitty verizon rep when he started laughing that I had no service (It was his fault and the guy was a real richard). The look on his face when I subtly flipped him off made me smile.

I am ready for the game and I have cell service.

I'm just sitting here wondering if the players are focusing in on tonight's game and mentally preparing themselves for what they need to do. When I looked up across my office/workout room and looked at the wall.
I wonder if any of the player on the crusp of playing go to the coach and say "I want in, coach." I want to know who shows up tonight with that "look" in their eyes, that they are all business. I want to see it on their faces and in their demeanor that they want it.

If I was playing in a Game 7 on national television in two countries, I’d be foaming at the mouth and ready to tear someone’s head off. The thought of losing this game and the disgrace and shame that would bring would be unbearable to me.

They’ve played enough “desperate” teams over the last month and a half, let’s see if they have it in them to play a desperate game.
I mentioned I had a nightmare before playoff seedlings were set that the bruins lost in 7 to the leafs. They NEED to win, I do not want to move to Long Island and star in a reality show helping solve crimes with my arcane abilities.

Thursday’s sixth game in the first round of the Stanley Cup playoffs drew an overnight, estimated audience of just over 3.4 million total (all ages) viewers. On Sportsnet National, the Live+ same day tally was 1,997,000; there were 1,409,000 who watched the same game on CBC.

That Leafs victory forced a seventh and deciding game to be played in Boston. That audience will likely top four million viewers Saturday night on CBC and Sportsnet.
