Literally knew exactly what he was going to do in the shootout since he's been doing that for a while now.

Funny way to spell ‘flagrant drive’

Looking forward to this series being over so I don’t have to deal with Hurricane’s fans anymore

> No defending player, except the goalkeeper, will be permitted to fall on the puck, hold the puck, pick up the puck, or gather the puck into the body or hands when the puck is within the goal crease.

None of those things happen on that play.

For context for those who don’t watch all 82 for the Canes - Kuznetsov went 0-2 in the regular season with the slow shootout move, so that rocked for us. We’ve all been waiting to see it actually work lmao.
Both against goalies he was very recently teammates with (yes I know varly was too)

Gather the puck into his hand. In other words cover it with his glove.

You gotta remember, the Isles haven’t done anything wrong this series. It’s important to establish that however this series ends up, the Islanders play the game The Right Way. That is in stark contrast to the Hurricanes, who have proven time and time again that they play the game The Wrong Way, which is embarrassing and not something that, personally, any self-respecting Islanders fan would ever be caught dead supporting.

This but unironically

It was between a curling stone and some sort of wild animal, but it’s not immediately clear what type of animal would be best. Any ideas?

The NHL teams should practice a defence for this slow-mo. Maybe have the goalie race out of the crease and run the shooter over. Hit him hard too.
