Lol I never said Mack plays with bums. I just said tampa is a deeper team. Mack plays with a start winger and norris dmen.
Tampa isn't deep. Outside of Hedman, their d is average at best. Mack probably plays with two better players, Makar and Rants, than anyone on the Lightning other than Kuch.

Tampa only had 14 less goals than the avs. They were 5th in the league in goals. They had 3 40 goal scorers. 7 20 goal scores

Avs had 2 40 goal scores. 4 20 goal scores.

Zach Parise was signed mid season and was on a top line recently lamo

It's easy to smother kucherov when the rest of the team other than stamkos isn't doing anything. The lightning made some huge blunders getting rid of their depth for their top performers. The only reason the top guys did so well was because of how deep the rest of the team was. This lightning teams top guys are kind of average when they are not backed by that third line. They gave the leafs a first round win so you know they aren't very good anymore.

So what do you suggest they should have done? Traded their top players to keep their depth? The cap exists; they couldn't keep those guys. What's happening to the Bolts is the same thing that has happened to every championship team in the cap era.

Funnily enough, letting most of those guys go proved to be a good decision in hindsight. Of all the guys who were let go after the Cups (Gourde, Goodrow, Coleman, Palat, Killorn, McDonagh), the only one still performing up to his contract is Coleman (arguably McDonagh too, but that cap hit combined with that age is a bit scary).

I mean maybe Florida should have been more blatant with some of their infractions and they wouldn't have gotten called. Worked for them last game.

Heres an example.

If you're gonna complain about Too Many Men calls, there was a real blatant one on Tampa in game one that 19,000 people saw and complained about in real time.

probably needed to let at least one of their top guys and definitely not trade all their picks away for a guy they couldn't trade now for a bag of pucks
