I feel like getting McDavid to 100 assists is going to be the priority until it happens (like getting Hyman to 50 goals). And the team game suffers bc of it (like the leaf/Sens games last weekend).

So hopefully he gets 5 assists tonight which will also put him in the lead of the scoring race and then they can concentrate on playing proper hockey instead of reaching milestones.

What we don't want is for the Knights to have a cakewalk in round 1 by facing the Kings. Then they will be fully adjusted to their playoff lineup and going 100%. We will have to go through Vegas eventually. We will be their toughest opponent in their way to another cup, so we want to hit them right away.

Ultimately I agree that the simple answer is that winning is always the best outcome and that we want to finish as high as possible and have the smoothest 1st round as possible.
