Apparently the “stop flaming” post didn’t get noticed.

Stop flaming. Attack the post, not the posters. Stop calling specific and/or groups of people names.

Anyone not paying attention this time can expect thread bans. Thank you.
Also ;

1) Flaming: Critique the opinion, not the person. Personal attacks against members are not permitted. Report flaming, do not respond to it. Counter-flaming is also prohibited.

2) Trolling: Do not make posts that could be interpreted as though they were made to cause an argument or provoke others. Making generalizations about other posters is a common form of trolling. Posting questionable content on team boards, particularly those of rivals, is likely to be seen as trolling.

11) No Disclosure of Personal Information: Do not disclose any other member's email, real name, address, phone number, IP address, private communications, or other personal information. Do not post publicly about your moderation history or the actions of moderators.

Wow I can’t believe we did it. I don’t dislike having him on the team, but I’m curious who will be the odd man (men?) out once we are healthy at forward.

Called that shit. Glad PV saw his value.

Great lockeroom guy and glue guy that will protect the kids for minimal cost.

Worst case scenario is the Ducks forward prospect have amazing years in the AHL and push for his spot next year. Ducks waive him and he likely gets claimed. Which would be a nice problem to have.

Surprised they made the financial commitment, however it’s pretty likely Cronin put in a good word.

Don’t really like how willingly Verbeek has been helping some teams out taking multi-year cap dumps for next to nothing in return. Semi-inconsequential but probably not ideal.

The difference on this one is that his cap hit can be fully buried, so NYI would never pay to get rid of him. They would just send him to the AHL. McGinn, on the other hand, should’ve cost more to get rid of.

Don‘t know what to make of the player himself, but surely it can’t be a great sign that Isles fans are almost universally in shock that he was claimed.

Unlike McGinn tho, which may be the greatest offense on that front, Johnston can be completely buried in the minors. However, they still have to pay him the full 1.1mil if he is not claimed. So that’s a bit surprising considering the owners don’t love spending more money in no competitive years.

Well he’s a face puncher on contract for three more seasons, so that’s to be expected. Isles fans say he is a great teammate though. He has been redundant because they have Matt Martin.

If he isn't that good at hockey, he can be a 13th forward against teams without a heavyweight fighter (Carrick is more of that middleweight), and enter the lineup against teams that do have a real fighter (can't be that many anymore).

Yay for face-punching! Who needs players who know how to play offense or defense?

At worst, Johnston can be buried in the minors and doesn't matter. Plus our fourth line is full of random plugs anyway. So I guess this is whatever. I'm glad all the fans of grit and toughness and truculence are happy.

Don’t like the term and think that there could have been cheaper options in free agency, but I’m excited to finally have some legitimate protection for the kids that was sorely needed.
