ya with a tiny caveat - shoulda won in 2019, was wagon-ish in 2020 before covid and tampa was hurt...

that could have gone so differently that i cant pin it on sweeney although mcdonough would have been sick back there
If Tampa made it past the first round we wouldnt have made the cup ECF.

and tbh, the 2020 team kinda felt like a paper tiger.

Sweeney isn't going anywhere but it's time to ether rip things apart or be aggressive and get better. I don't want another middling approach. Trade Ullmark and be aggressive.

Sweeney and company make soooo much money off this Centennial year PR and marketing/merchandise. Owners happy.

Bruins fans empty pockets and empty wins column at home.

Now its year 101 coming up, no reasons to celebrate and a team that doesn't win at home.

Oh, and you might want to try and find a #1 center someday. Even Patrice's last two were as a 2nd line C.

Dummy should of been canned long ago, have no hope of this happening. Let's see what kind of mess he can create with cap space.

Is this guy going to get fired or is he going to grift his way to another mid season.

1 playoff round win in 3 years for this franchise is unacceptable and certainly worthy of dismissal. However, Sweeney used to play for the Bruins and he's BFF's with Neely, so he'll be safe.

He keeps the team competitive enough to make the playoffs. His boss is happy.

Unfortunately, they'll never be good enough to win it all until they rebuild.

Live look at Jeremy and Charlie reacting to getting revenue from 7 home playoff games:

Carefully Donnie, you wouldn’t wanna be fined.

FOH, take this roster with you
That fine comment is what really pissed me off.

Last thing a fan (forking over four figures to bring family to game for shitty seats or paying 30 bucks a month for crap service), wants to hear is a multimillion dollar exec working for a multimillion dollar corp complaining about being fined.

He's not without his flaws but his body of work from free agency last year onward is probably his best year as a GM given what he had to work with.

He's the Canada GM for the 4 Nations Cup so he's highly regarded at this point and going nowhere.

6-4 in play-off series where they were the higher seed

1-4 in play-off series they were lower seed (2021 Washington)

425-192-72 regular season

For some reason this team just can’t carry over regular season production into the playoffs.

Current bruins and 1970s/1980s flyers only two teams to lead regular season in points over a 10 year stretch and not win a cup.

That flyers team went to three Stanley cups and lost . Bruins went to one and lost.

No team in league history that has lead the league in regular season points in a 10 year stretch that has done worse in the playoffs than the current era bruins.

I bet Harry sindens bruins might be on par with that? Guess not.

He's the Canada GM for the 4 Nations Cup so he's highly regarded at this point and going nowhere.

Yet overall his comfort with CHOOSING to ice a roster short of one top 6 winger, let alone this season's center situation is another nail in the coffin. Or should be.

Hall was the best player in the playoffs last season and a top six talent.

Gryz/Forbort remained. Ullmark as well but at least the logic of build from the net can be argued. If he were such an incredible GM he would have found a way. Sweeney often settles and that is when the Bruins suffer for it. Example, Maroon. This offseason will be most telling.

Aside from extending his own players and a few magical trades (Lindholm was excellent, despite his playoffs this year), he should be very replaceable. If not for the so called Perfection Line, Krejci, Chara etc all inherited I am not confident he survives nearly this long in Boston. There was a decent chance he would have been finished two seasons ago if Cassidy had not added Debrusk to the Bergeron line late in the season, as that year was dreadful to that point.
