I've decided the draft will start tomorrow at 8a.m. Everything should be perfectly set by then.

Draft Orders for each draft will be determined late tonight.

Good luck to everyone. :)

I don't know about 8 Am?.. People are usually ready to go to work at that time or school. How about tonight around 6 PM.

So there is going to be trading players, right? Does that mean we can trade with teams across divisions, or only with teams in our division?

... and BuppY noted on the NW draft board that a snake order 1-5, 5-1, 1-5, might be better/fairer than a straight repetitive 1-5, 1-5, 1-5 ... COL's got the 2nd pick overall in that div, so personally I'm fine with it the way it is ;) ... but I think he's got a point.

All mock-drafts must be snake order, or it is a joke and no-one would do them..

and can we trade with other divisions?

We will be doing a snake draft, but the draft orders haven't yet been established. That's why it looks they way it does. I forgot to add that earlier, sorry.

And trades can be with any team. But equal players must go both ways. I will also add this to the rules.

As for the 8a.m. start, I am thinking about noon instead. If the draft starts at noon the first people in line will have until 8p.m. to make there 1st selection on time. Everyone should be able to handle that.

Also I am thinking of a draft freeze at 12a.m. to 4a.m. If a person selects someone at midnight I don't think it's fair to the next person whos time is expiring while sleeping. This way the person has at least till noon instead of 8a.m. in the morning to make there pick. And selections can still be made doing the freeze, but the clock does not start on the next person until 4a.m.

Aonther thing, the pens GM dropped out, but don't worry we'll fill that position before tomorrows start. ;)

Very good start by the way. We've already done one round for the most. This draft is gonna last less than a month.

That's good. No one likes a draft that drags on. Let's keep it up. :)

Quick question. You said that we can only draft guys if they're on the NHL.com rosters, but in the Southeast division, Cory Stillman was taken even though he's not on Tampa's roster that NHL.com links to. I was considering him with an earlier pick, but he wasn't listed on Tampa's site so I thought he was ineligible.

All players on that team after the trade deadline. Stillman isn't listed because he is a FA, but for this draft is still a Lightning.

Yeah, that's what I thought, but he said that all the NHL.com rosters were how the teams were after the trade deadline so this is an exception to that.

The rules are we use the rosters after the last NHL seasons trade deadline, not just NHL.com's rosters, but NHL.com holds the best rosters I can find for this draft.
